Wix to Shopify
Outgrown Wix? The hard part is getting your data out.
Wix is a closed system, and it does not give up its data as readily as other platforms. Most Wix migrations are less about complex mapping and more about extracting a complete, accurate catalog and rebuilding a storefront that was never portable to begin with.
Scope
What we help with
The work that typically sits inside this service. Every engagement is scoped to what your store actually needs.
- Wix store audit and data extraction planning
- Product, collection, and image extraction, including where exports fall short
- Customer records and order history, subject to what Wix exposes
- Blog posts, pages, and media
- A Shopify storefront rebuilt from your existing brand and design
- Payments, shipping, tax, and market configuration
- URL mapping from Wix page and product paths, with redirects
- Analytics, tracking, and domain transfer coordination
Our approach
Get the data out cleanly, then build something that can grow.
Wix does not offer the depth of export or API access that other platforms do, so extraction has to be planned rather than assumed. Once the catalog and content are out and verified, the storefront is built fresh on Shopify — there is no theme to port, which makes this a genuine rebuild rather than a translation.
Extraction planned against what Wix actually exposes
We establish early what can be exported, what needs the API, and what has to be reconstructed — before quoting the work, not during it.
Verified against the live store
Extracted records are checked back against the Wix storefront by counts and samples, because incomplete exports are the common failure here.
A rebuild, not a port
Nothing about a Wix site transfers structurally. That makes it the right moment to fix the information architecture and merchandising the old site constrained.
Deliverables
What’s included
What you receive from an engagement of this type. Exact deliverables are confirmed in the scope we agree together.
Wix data extraction plan
What can be exported, what needs the API, and what must be reconstructed — established before the build starts.
Verified catalog import
Products, variants, images, and collections imported into Shopify and checked against the live Wix store.
Customer and order data, where available
Records migrated to the extent Wix exposes them, with any limits stated in advance rather than discovered late.
Shopify storefront build
A theme implementation carrying your brand across, structured so your team can merchandise it.
Content migration
Blog posts, pages, and media moved across with internal links repointed.
Redirect map
Wix page and product URL patterns mapped to Shopify paths so existing links keep working.
Launch checklist and handover
Domain transfer coordination, cutover sequence, and documentation for running the new store.
How much customer and order history can move depends on what Wix exposes for your specific account and plan. We establish those limits during discovery and state them plainly rather than promising a complete transfer.
Ideal fit
Built for
Wix migrations usually happen when the store has outgrown what a site builder was designed to do.

Brands whose catalog or order volume has outgrown a site builder
- 02
Merchants blocked by limited apps, integrations, or shipping logic
- 03
Businesses that need multi-currency, multi-market, or wholesale selling
- 04
Teams wanting a platform their future developers will already know

FAQ
Wix to Shopify FAQs
Direct answers to what teams ask before starting this kind of work.
Not entirely. Wix is a closed platform with more limited export and API access than most, so some data typically needs API extraction or manual reconstruction. We determine exactly what your account exposes during discovery, so the plan reflects reality rather than an optimistic assumption.
No. Wix sites are not portable to Shopify in any structural sense, so the storefront is rebuilt. We can carry the brand across closely, and in practice this is usually welcome — it is the point at which the layout and navigation limits of the old site can be resolved.
Wix page and product URL patterns are inventoried and mapped to Shopify equivalents, then implemented as redirects at launch. That preserves the technical continuity we control. Rankings remain Google's decision, so we plan carefully and monitor Search Console afterwards rather than promise positions.
Yes. Domains registered through Wix can generally be transferred or repointed to Shopify. We coordinate the sequencing as part of the cutover plan, since domain changes and redirect deployment need to happen in the right order.
That is a fair question to ask, and sometimes the honest answer is yes — if Wix is not actually blocking anything, the move can wait. The usual trigger is a specific constraint: an integration you cannot build, shipping or tax logic you cannot express, or a growth plan the platform will not support. Tell us the constraint and we will say whether a migration solves it.
