About BumpyLabs
Built around one platform. Focused on your next stage.
BumpyLabs is a Shopify-only commerce agency for brands that need more than another website. We combine product thinking, design sensibility, and engineering depth to make Shopify work harder for the business behind it.
Focus
Why Shopify-only
Specialization is a practical decision, not a marketing position.
Working on one platform means we recognize situations quickly. We know how Shopify’s data model handles options and variants, where the theme architecture helps and where it constrains, which app categories are dependable and which create a maintenance problem, and what the API will and will not let you do.
It also means we know the platform’s limits. A generalist agency has an incentive to say yes to anything; a Shopify-only team has to tell you when a requirement does not fit the platform, because we will be the ones supporting it afterwards.
We build for maintainability because we are usually still around when the store needs to change. That perspective is hard to fake and difficult to sustain across four platforms at once.
BumpyLabs is an independent agency. We do not claim any official Shopify partnership, certification, or affiliation.
Positioning
What “zero to top” means
Four stages, one team. Most brands meet us somewhere in the middle.
- Zero
New store strategy, setup, storefront, and launch
Getting a brand onto Shopify properly the first time — architecture, templates, configuration, and a launch that is planned rather than improvised.
- Move
Platform migration and replatforming
Bringing an existing business across from another platform with the data, URLs, integrations, and operations accounted for before cutover.
- Build
Themes, apps, integrations, and Plus capabilities
Extending what the storefront and the business can do, from a section library through to custom apps and multi-market Plus builds.
- Top
Performance, conversion, operations, and ongoing improvement
The work after launch: making the store faster and clearer, connecting it to how the business runs, and keeping it moving.
Principles
How we make decisions
Four ideas that settle most arguments about scope, sequencing, and how something should be built.
- 01
Solve the commercial problem, not just the ticket
A request is a symptom. We ask what it is meant to achieve before deciding whether building it is the right answer.
- 02
Build for the people who will manage the store
The team publishing campaigns on a Friday afternoon is the real user of everything we ship. Their experience shapes our decisions.
- 03
Prefer durable systems over one-off hacks
The quick fix that nobody documents becomes next year's blocker. We take the extra step now where it saves a rebuild later.
- 04
Communicate clearly and ship deliberately
Problems surface early while they are still cheap, and releases happen when they are ready rather than when they are due.
